The SSC CGL Examination is conducted in two computer-based online phases: Tier-I (Qualifying in nature) and Tier-II (Merit determination).
1. Tier-I Computer Based Examination Pattern
- General Intelligence & Reasoning: 25 Questions (50 Marks)
- General Awareness: 25 Questions (50 Marks)
- Quantitative Aptitude: 25 Questions (50 Marks)
- English Comprehension: 25 Questions (50 Marks)
- Total Duration: 60 Minutes (80 Minutes for eligible scribe candidates)
- Negative Marking: 0.50 marks deducted for each incorrect answer.
2. Tier-II Paper-I (Compulsory for All Posts)
- Section-I: Mathematical Abilities (30 Qs) + Reasoning & General Intelligence (30 Qs) = 180 Marks
- Section-II: English Language & Comprehension (45 Qs) + General Awareness (25 Qs) = 210 Marks
- Section-III: Computer Knowledge Test (20 Qs, Qualifying) + Data Entry Speed Test (DEST)
📌 Preparation Tip: Merit list for final selection is prepared solely on the basis of aggregate marks secured in Tier-II Paper-I (and Paper-II for JSO posts).
